KNet™
KNet™ is a software developer’s kit and an application program interface (API). The software can be either shared or static. It provides a dynamic yet stable communications network for applications requiring optimum reliability in shared data transmission between multiple hosts. KNet™ is available for Windows, Solaris, and Linux operating systems.
An Introduction to KNet™
KNet™ enables data to be shared and transmitted in a highly reliable configuration. The API acts as a Reliable Information Broadcaster, providing a framework that allows multiple hosts to share information while dynamically adjusting for changing conditions to ensure the reliability of the data. The architecture that KNet™ creates is fully scalable and exists in versions built for Microsoft Windows, Solaris, and Linux platforms. KNet™ is designed to work seamlessly with existing systems without requiring any major changes to the infrastructure already in place.
KNet™ is fully capable of handling communications that flow both in a “one-to-many” format and in the multiple channels of a “many-to-many” network. KNet™ actually eliminates redundant peer-to-peer communications, streamlining the flow of data and efficiently reducing the network bandwidth required, while improving the accurate delivery of up-to-date information with its simultaneous data delivery/receipt capabilities. The dynamic nature of the network controller designation within the network improves overall network control.
Dynamic adaptation for accurate data transmission with KNet ™
KNet™ routinely monitors network activity and sends retransmit requests when a missed packet is detected, or retransmits packets when a request is received. If data is to be updated periodically, it may be marked as real-time and packets containing outdated data will not be retransmitted. If the network becomes congested, KNet™ will decrease its packet transmission rate to prevent dropped packets due to an overloaded receiver.

KNet™ 's Java Native Interface
KNet™ is available in versions with or without a Java native methods interface for all available platforms. When KNet™ includes the Java native interface, all classes necessary for network control and communications are also included.
